Beta Progress Update #1
Hello guys! Welcome to The First Progress Update of Beta 1. the progress update will show the first changes, mainly UI, improvements, Detail, and others, anyways, Strap In!
Elevator Functions!
Here is the First Screenshot of the Level Editor, the button, deco, texts, and everything else. You guys dont know that, but the baldi users button is a functioning button! when you click on it, it shows a tab with 4 different tabs, you can choose to see speedrun times, choose floor from checkpoints, play normal mode ( start from level 1 ), or play extension mode ( start from floor 5, the scary schoolhouse ), lemme show you:
the elevator will be used in all gamemodes, which makes checkpoints and speedrun tab no longer show up in gamemodes menu, since they are in the elevator now. speaking of gamemodes tab:
Gamemode Section UI Changes!
this is big, since the game was designed to have its alpha view in previous versions, the gamemode UI was all the time alpha textures, however, since Beta 1 is upcoming, the beta textures now are here, i wiped out unecessary gamemodes and combined them with more necessary ones. also, Since Classic/party/demo modes are very similar to each other, i combined them into one gamemode, normal mode, where you can access them there, here,s a screenshot or two:
This is the first change of these (backdrops) UIs, if its a bit ugly, keep in mind that the game will be more towards Classic Graphics and it means that it wont be that great created textures by (for example, BFNSU), also, you can give me suggestions on how to improve it in comments section!
Level Saving!
Since im not fully a master of scratch, level editor saving seems complex and very hard to do, but its actually not that hard!
Firstly, the Lists will store X pos and Y pos of placed editor blocks, and what costume the Editor Blocks have, and when the level starts loading the level, there will be a " COSTUME EDITOR " Variable that will increase by 1 every time the Editor Block that was meant for recreating saved level was added, the variable will decide which page of the lists that control the editor blocks will be. if you dont understand, the variable makes all lists deciding the editor blocks having the same page as the " COSTUME EDITOR " number variable. the only fixes i need to add for the level saving to fully work is cramm character spawners into the editor block variable. the editor will also contain 4 save slots.
Also, there are new things added in a tab that you may not want to know...
And this thing, i will reveal the feature in the 2nd Progress Update:
New Settings Menu!
The New Settings menu is added! it optimizes the game a bit and it much better than splitting categories into buttons that split across different areas (as in Alpha 7B) as you can see, i added a new category, Cheat Settings
The Category will hold hints for cheat menu, control mapper for movement and inventory slots, and there is a set music info thing, where you can see information about the set day music, i also removed a few songs beacuse they dont contribute much to the game. and there was a soundtrack belonging to editor and main menu day music which just feels weird
i also added setting for size of the cursor and game difficulty.
Floor 5 added to Ultimate Mode!
Here is a screenshot of Floor 5 (player spawn), i dont want to spoil too much about the map, so i only shown the map near player,s spawn, here,s what it will have;
- playground with unique effect, if player enters it, the player will have limited vision for the rest of the playthrough
- the level has 4 notebooks and 4 exits
- detention is longer but baldi is a bit slower.
- has a new unique mechanic but i wont spoil it now.
Optimizations!
The game file size reached 190 MB, and my browser sometimes crashed when loading the project, so i needed to do something, so, i decreased the amount of code blocks from 23000 to 19600.
Also, sorry That im Not Consistent In Game Development Currently, i Started Working on January 4th and After 12th January i Wasnt Motivated Enough, Mainly Beacuse Of Getting BB+ And school Tests, Since i joined middle School This Year, i have a lot Of Tests And deadlines to deal With, And i'm taking a Quarter Of my Time Studying. but i will Try to Work on More Beacuse i have 2 Week break After 27th January 2025. I'm sorry about It.
Achievments Tab Revamp
The achievments tab page is revamped with some achievments removed and now only the more important achievments will show up, the achievments removed were from party style, giant baldi, chaos mode, most ultimate mode achievments, few fun setting achievments, and there will be more unique ones, such as beating baldi bossfight, getting a shop pass, getting a quick run, etc.
I also have layout for Floor 6 In Ultimate Mode, And a few Bugs formed Beacuse Of Game optimization. There Will Be also a live system where You have certain Amount Of lives in Ultimate Mode, Just Like In BB+, though The player Can Buy The Amount Of certain lives In a shop, Up to 6 lives. I also made A New Texture for Baldi Shop Pass. And Som- bla bla bla Yeah You Will find Out After beta 1 Comes Out.
The Update optimizations are quite buggy. I WILL also release New Floors Beta 1 Demo in 8th February 2025, there will be showcase of new floors and mechanics.
